On 20 March, Odessa philanthropist, the President of charitable organization “Boumbouras Foundation” Pantelis Boumbouras took part at the New York Mayor’s annual reception (USA) Mr. Bill de Blasio. The meeting was held at the residence of the head of the city – Gracie Mansion - on the occasion of the Greek Independence Day. Archbishop Demetrius, Geron of America opened the official evening with a prayer. Among the honorable guest the President of the Federation of societies Hellenic of New York Mr. Petros Galatoulas, as well as Greek and Cypriot diplomats were present. Also the American actress of Greek origin Olimpia Dukakis that was present in the hall was honored. During his speech Mr. Bills de Blasio underlined the significant contribution of the Greek nation to the development of New York City.
