More than 50 schoolchildren from Odessa got acquainted with the history of the brotherhood nations of Piraeus and Odessa in the context of an educational lecture. The event took place at the Central City Library named after Ivan Franko. The pupils not only listened to a lecture on the notable Greeks of Odessa, who at the time developed the city, but also took part in a quiz. "Brotherhood-city relations have ceased to be formal. Friendly ties are necessary and important. Moreover, Greece and Ukraine have a common history" noted the representative of the Boumbouras Foundation. At the end of the meeting, representatives of the Boumbouras Foundation gave souvenirs to the schoolchildren of Odessa. Please be advised that the educational lecture will be held for three days. For reference: The brotherhood ties of Odessa and Piraeus celebrate their 25 years anniversary this year. Additionally, in 2018, a statue is planned to be constructed in Piraeus as a memorable sign of Odessa and the ties between the two nations, in the shape of an anchor-heart.
