“A language is an excellent communication channel through which children of one country get to know another country, learn its culture, a certain connection begins and thus begins the process of the rapprochement between the two peoples”, says in an interview to the journalists of the Greek newspaper “Kathimerini” Mr. Pantelis Mpoumbouras.
Today about 180.000 of Greeks live in Ukraine and Mr. Boumbouras decided to maintain friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries with the help of the Greek language.
“There are teachers in Ukraine, who teach Modern Greek and we try to provide an incentive for them to go to Greek villages and to teach the language. Under this project we applied to the Ministry of Education of Greece with a request to send teachers of Greek to Ukraine”, - Mr. Boumbouras said.
Also Mr. Pantelis Boumbouras applied with a corresponding request to the Ministry of Education of Greece and to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece. “In parallel this summer 2017 we will send 20 teachers of the Greek Language from Ukraine to Athens so that they have an opportunity to take part in an educational seminar and improve their level of knowledge”, Mr. Boumbouras added.
