Greek entrepreneur Pantelis Boumbouras accompanied by His Eminence Agafangel, Metropolitan of Odessa and Izmail, visited the Holy Protection Skete which is being built in the Holly Assumption Patriarchal Friary in the village Mariniyivka of Belyayevsk district in Odessa region.
His Eminence acquainted the guest with the history of the creation of this spiritual lighthouse in the region of Mezlimanye, showed the ready sites and those under construction, the painting of the Holy Protection Church as well as the four-story building of the first in Ukraine Orthodox hospice “Pokrov”, where spiritual and medical assistance will be provided to seriously ill people being on the verge of death.
“You build not only modern buildings, but also the spiritual bridges between our fraternal peoples united by the Orthodox Church, - said Metropolitan Agafangel. – We are glad that here, in Mezlimanye region, you participate in creation of the spiritual lighthouse, finding time and opportunity to visit the construction sites of the Skete in person.”
Pantelis Boumbouras thanked His Eminence for the warm words in his address, stressing that it is a great honor for him to take part in the implementation of this project. “As an Orthodox Christian I am always ready to assist in the construction of Churches and revival of shrines,” noted the Greek philanthropist. – “Although Ukraine is going through difficult times, I believe and hope that opening new churches and monasteries will help the country to come out of the crisis, for in these sites the faithful will pray to God about the peace and prosperity of Ukraine and the Lord will hear them.”
