On this day in 1821, the struggle for Greece’s independence from the Ottoman Empire began. A struggle that started in Odesa with the founding of the Filiki Eteria (Friendly Society) and spread across the entire Greek world under the slogan: "Freedom or Death."
March 25th is a day of national pride for all Greeks and a symbol of freedom for all peoples fighting for their rights. The same slogan echoes today in Ukraine, where its people defend their right to freedom and independence.
With respect for History and faith in the values of Freedom and Democracy, we extend our heartfelt wishes to all Greek men and women!
Long live March 25th!
Long live Greece!
Glory to Ukraine!
