13-year-old member of the boxing club "Gefest" Valeriya Telpis won a bronze medal in her category at the European Championship in boxing among schoolchildren below 15 years of age. Competitions were held from 22 to 29 May in Albena (Bulgaria).
The charitable organization "Boumbouras Foundation" undertook the financial support of the training process of the young athlete.
Valeria Telpis has been practicing boxing for 3 years. Alexander Bunyak is her trainer. Throughout her training the athlete won many tournaments, including in the Ukrainian championship.
"In our boxing club, not only do future champions train, but also the present stars of Ukrainian boxing. Among them is also Odessan Nikolai Butsenko. The boxer has competed as part of the Ukrainian national team since 2010. Nikolay is our pride and a prizewinner of national importance, twice a silver medalist of European championships, bronze medalist of the World Championship and participant of the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
It is in our plans to develop boxing and raise real champions who will glorify Ukraine. As of September 2018, children will be able to train for free in our club" said the head of the boxing club "Gefest", Vasilis Boumbouras.
