The charitable organization "Boumbouras Foundation" financed the studies and scholarships of 56 students at the Mariupol State University.
The corresponding proposal came from the rector of Mariupol State University, Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus in Mariupol, Konstantin Balabanov.
The above number includes students who finished high-school with distinction, are underprivileged or of Greek origin, etc.
Mariupol State University is the only classical university having level 4 accreditation in the Donetsk region and is the leading center for qualitative training of specialists and spiritual revival of the Greeks of Ukraine.
The only department of Greek philology in Ukraine has been created and successfully functioning in Mariupol State University. More than 500 students study modern Greek, literature and the culture of Greece there.
"Education is an integral part of people’s development. Such an initiative is an investment in the future of our country" commented the head of the Foundation, Pantelis Boumbouras.
