The positive chages that are expected in Odessa basketball movement with the election of the President of “Boumbouras Foundation” Pantelis Boumbouras as a President of the club “BIPA Odessa” were discussed at a press conference of the Odessa City Basketball Federation.
The President of the Odess City Basketball Federation, the deputy Mayor of Odessa Pavel Vugelman, said that the Federation has unanimously decided to elect Mr. Boumbouras as the President of the leading Ukrainian basketball team “BIPA Odessa”and the construction company “GEFEST” as the general sponsor of the team.
Pantelis Boumbouras has a very serious potential and sincere desire to support the development of sport in Odessa, - said Mr. Vugelman. – he will do everything to make the team start at Euroleague confidenty. We are sure that with his support the club will enter a fundamentally new level.
According to Sergei Strazov, he executive director of the Federation, one of the signs of team’s upgrades will be the bet on the best domestic players, while the first match of the upgraded team will take place at the end of September.
The participants of the press conference invited Odessa residents and guests of the city to celebrate the 25th anniversary of “BIPA Odessa” club which will take place on September at 13:00 in the sports complex “Odessa”. The main event of the holiday on the initiative of Pantelis Boumbouras will be a friendly match between the teams of legendary Ukrainian basketball players and veterans of the Greek club Olympiakos, the three-time Euroleague champion.
