The documentary "As Vasilevoun Rumei! The Story of Azov Greeks" (with English subtitles), was screened on December 6, 2023, at the Hellenic Cultural Center NYC and December 9, 2023, at the DCTV in Manhattan, New York in collaboration with the Consulate General of Greece in New York and the Consulate General of Ukraine in New York and financially supported by the BOUMBOURAS FOUNDATION/Фонд Бумбураса/Ίδρυμα Μπούμπουρα.
The documentary was filmed in the summer of 2021, initiated by the Greek Society "Enotita" (Kyiv, Ukraine), and produced by the television company UA:SUSPILNE. Director: Andriy Maksyuta. Producer: Anton Savidi. English subtitle translation by Tetiana Liubchenko.
The documentary highlights the specific language and dialects the Azov Greeks speak is endangered and it is unclear if this ethnic group who are mostly under the russian controlled parts of Ukraine today, will be able to maintain their identity.
