The meeting of the President of “Boumbouras Foundation” Pantelis Boumbouras with the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew was held in Budapest. During the meeting the construction of a church on the territory of the Exarchate of the territory of Constantinople Orthodox Church in the center of the Hungarian capital was discussed.
The Hungarian government handed to the Ecumenical Patriarchate a very important historical monument of the capital and thus recognized the significant contribution of Orthodoxy to the history and modern image of the country.
The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the invitation of the Government of Budapest has recently visited the capital to “receive” the building complex as a donation.
During the meeting, which was attended by Metropolitan Arseny, Metropolitan of Austria, exarch of Hungary and Eastern Europe, the first discussion was held on the construction of the church at the expense of “Boumbouras Foundation”.
The next step will be to discuss all the details of the project.
