Greek philanthropist, President of the construction company "Gefest" Pantelis Boumbouras became the new Honorary Citizen of Odessa and received the honorary badge of Odessa Mayor Grigory Marazli of the 1st degree "for many years of work for the benefit of the community", executed in the form of an order.The awards were presented by the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov during the solemn celebration at the Opera House on the occasion of the 226th anniversary of the city's foundation.

President of the construction company “Gefest”, Chairman of the Charitable Organization “Boumbouras Foundation” , was appointed Honorary Consul of Greece in Yalta, headed the Administrative Council of the branch of the Greek Cultural Fund in Odessa, initiator and President of the Association of Greek Entrepreneurs and Enterprises in Ukraine. In 2018, he was Grand Marshal at the Parade dedicated to the Independence Day of the Hellenic Republic in New York (USA).

In 2019, His Beatitude Archbishop Ieronim II of Athens and All Hellas presented the Cross of the Archdiocese of Athens to Pantelis Boumbouras. This award marked the special contribution of the philanthropist and his family to the development of spiritual values, dedication to the ideals of goodness, as well as assistance in the development of the Archdiocese.
Among his main projects are the construction of the Greek Park in Odessa, financing of participation in the educational program "Young Leaders" at the Kennedy School at Harvard University, large-scale humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian army, funding in the departments of Modern Greek in a number of Ukrainian universities, etc.
