Odessan philanthropist and chairman of the charitable organization, “Boumbouras Foundation”, Pantelis Boumbouras became an honorary grand marshal of a large-scale parade in downtown New York on the occasion of the Independence Day of Greece.
The event took place on the 22nd of April, 2018 on the 5th Avenue in Manhattan.
In March, Pantelis Boumbouras received the official invitation of attendance from the President of the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York, Petros Galatoulas.
The parade was attended by more than 30 thousand residents of the city, Greek diplomats and businessmen living in the United States, as well as honorary guests from Greece.
"It is a great honor for me to take part in such an important event as a grand marshal of the parade, along with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas. Firstly, I would like to express how proud I am that the Greeks of the world are so united and secondly, it is extremely important, especially today, to preserve the history of our people and to strengthen ties of the Greek diaspora all over the world" Pantelis Boumbouras announced.
