Their first destination was the port city of Piraeus. The children visited the Maritime Museum, the largest in all of Greece. The exhibition showcases the history of the creation and development of the Greek Navy. They also visited the Archaeological Museum of Piraeus, where they explored excavations from the Attica coastline dating back to the Mycenaean and Roman periods.
In the city of Marathon, they visited another Archaeological Museum and the burial mound of Athenian soldiers and Marathon fighters.
Next, they visited the cradle of ancient Greek civilization — Athens. The children saw the Acropolis, its main temple, the Parthenon, and other iconic monuments of ancient Greek art.
In between their educational program, the boys and girls spent time outdoors, played various games, held contests, and had evening events where they could showcase their talents. And, of course, they enjoyed the warm Greek sea and bright sunshine.
Refreshed, smiling, sun-kissed, and rejuvenated, our charges are returning to Ukraine today.
We extend our gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece, the Boumbouras Foundation, the Embassy of Ukraine in Greece, and the Greek-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for making the children happy.
