On March 1, a large-scale International Conference “Odessa Debates: Unification of Ukraine, the Black Sea Region and Transatlantic Partners” opened in Odessa.
The forum was held with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the German Marshall Fund (USA).
The general sponsor was the Charity Organization “The Boubouras Foundation” and the construction company “Gefest”.
According to the Head of the NPO “Boubouras Foundation” Pantelis Boubouras the idea of holding the Forum appeared in the autumn of 2018 on the opening day of the Greek Park with the participation of Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin.
“It was not by chance that we decided to hold this grand meeting in Odessa.
This city has always been home to people of different nationalities, cultures and religions. They always found a common language.
Ukraine is no longer a country that was 5 years ago. It is increasingly approaching its course with respect to Europe and its transatlantic partners. Our achievements are commendable, and we are moving forward with universal support,”mentioned Pantelis Boubouras.
The conference was attended by ministers and diplomats from the United States, Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania, Belgium, Poland, as well as representatives of state security agencies of Ukraine and the United States. The Ukrainian side was represented by Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin.
Among the honored guests are Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs George Kent, Head of the Support Group for Ukraine in the European Commission at the US Peter Wagner, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Vakhtang Makharoblishvili.
