Ukraine plans to cooperate with Greece in the sphere of joint investments. Currently, there is an ongoing discussion for several joint projects. This became known during a meeting of the Ukrainian delegation with the Deputy Minister of Economy and Development of Greece, Stergios Pitsiorlas, in Athens.
The Ukrainian delegation was chaired by the honorary consul in Yalta and patron, Pantelis Boumbouras. The delegation included the Head of the Office of the National Investment Council of Ukraine Yuliya Kovaliv, former Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Yuriy Gusev as well as the vice president of the investment company SigmaBleyzer and former Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and food, Vladislava Rutitskaya.
The initiator of the meeting was the charitable organization "Boumbouras Foundation".
The delegation also discussed with the Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Athens, Kate Marie Byrnes.
The main topics of the discussion with the American diplomat were the socio-economic reforms in Ukraine, the development of investment policy, relations with Greece, as well as a cultural exchange between the two countries.
Pantelis Boumbouras held an official meeting with the leader of the “Nea Dimokratia” party, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the head of the “Movement for Change/Kinima Allagis” party, Fofi Gennimata, the European Parliament spokesperson for “Nea Dimokratia” party, Georgios Kyrtsos and the European People's Party deputy Niki Tzavela.
The parties discussed the political situation in Ukraine and mutual support in international policy issues. Additionally, one of the topics was the autonomy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, with the support of Patriarch Bartholomew II.
During the conversation, Pantelis Boumbouras called himself an ardent supporter of the Greek-Ukrainian friendship.
"The ties of our two countries have existed for many centuries. As a representative of the Greek Diaspora, through the activities of the Foundation and my family, I will always support those activities that contribute to the development of both of my homelands - Greece and Ukraine. Such meetings between businessmen and politicians will continue in the future" Mr. Boumbouras said.
